In the past people have asked me about what air stones I used. Well the answer has changed since the Aquatic Eco Systems Sweetwater Air Diffusers are NOT the same anymore!
However, the Originals are still being manufactured (just not under the old trademarked name) and are

Sweetwater Air Diffuser – “REPLACEMENTS” — by Bubblemac Aeration Products
Please take a moment to review a recent letter from the President of Bubblemac Industries, Inc.
As some of you folks are aware, Bubblemac Industries, Inc. has been the “sole” {and silent} manufacturer of the high-quality “Sweetwater” glass-bonded silica air diffuser line, since January, 2000. Our Central Florida machine shop has also produced the well-known Bio-Weave air diffuser hoses, since the design development in 1995. Each of these trademarked product lines have been distributed exclusively by our Apopka, Florida neighbor; Aquatic Eco-Systems {now Pentair Aquatic Eco-Systems}, for the same number of years.
As is sometimes the case when the “giants” get involved in industry, more emphasis is put on profits and the bottom line. The drive for these huge organizations is to increase profits by using more imported parts and pieces in place of quality American Made parts. While many of these massive corporations, with interests in virtually every country on the globe, do reach their profit goals through this practice; too many times it is the consumer who ultimately pays the price by dealing with defective or inadequate systems that fail to meet the expectations for the application.
Effective June 1, 2015; after 15+ years; Bubblemac Industries, Inc. is no longer producing the “Sweetwater” air diffuser line for Pentair AES.
Our longtime, largest distributor has opted for an alternative product, rumored to be a molded style air stone with a “plug” on one end. As we understand it from several longtime Pentair AES customers who have contacted us; these “new” products are being sold to unknowing buyers with no prior indication there is a difference.
The Bubblemac Aeration Products design of the 100% Glass-Bonded Silica Air Diffuser “IS” and “ALWAYS HAS BEEN” the original design introduced by Bob Heideman, founder of AES, in the late 70’s. Our high-quality air diffusers are machined from a solid block of silica, with hand crafting in each and every air stone. Well known and recognized worldwide for many years as the standard of the industry for aeration.
Being of strong faith and moral conviction, the hard working and experienced employees at Bubblemac firmly believe that, “with every door that is closed; another will be opened.”
We will continue to manufacture the highest quality silica air diffusers on the market. We will continue to provide these products “on-time” to our customers and at a fair price. We assure that our service and order follow-up will far exceed that of our; now competitor, Pentair AES, in Apopka. Please visit our website www.bubblemacairdiffusers.com regularly to review new products and specials. And of course, please call if we can assist with your aeration needs.
Thanks for your business.

I was wondering if you might be able to help me with a problem I have. Being as in your in the aeration business I’m sure you’ve probably been down this road before. Can you tell me what size diffusor and pump I would need to fix my 10000 gallon septic tank. Any help or reference would be helpful, thank you
I really do not know the answer to that since the aeration for aquaponic systems is a totally different thing from septic.
First, is this an engineered aerated 10,000 gallon septic tank? I would assume that if it is meant to be an aerated system that you would simply replace the air pump and diffusers that were there in the first place. I thought most aerated systems came with a service contract for maintenance since they require it at least annually. If this is not already an aerated septic system with the appropriate multi chamber design, filters and engineering, then simply adding aeration to the septic tank will likely cause leach field failure in very short order.
